Threadlock or thread-locking fluid is a thin, single-component adhesive which is applied to the treads of fasteners, typically screws and bolts, to stop the bolts or screws from loosening, leaking and to prevent corrosion.

There are a variety of threadlockers, the most common types to be used at permanent, removable and low strength formulas. There are many brands of threadlock available on the market today. PERMATEX

Threadlockers are superior to conventional lock washers, nylon inserts, and other mechanical devices because they secure the entire fastener assembly against loosening from shock and vibration by filling the space between threaded metal parts, curing to form a tough, adhesive bond and seal. They also seal the threads against leakage, preventing rust and corrosion.
